Healthy Eating Kick!

I have a confession. I've been really, really bad at eating well lately... My 'Christmas holiday' period of indulgence has leaked into January (somewhat acceptable) and February (not so much) and I refuse to let it continue into March. On the other hand, my boyfriend, a newly qualified fitness coach, is just about to wrap up a 90 day fitness challenge that has seen him on the road to rippedness. Not cool. (It's actually very cool. I'm just jealous...)

My famous millionaire shortcake. Nice but oh, so naughty.

So, in the early hours of the 9th February (aka Pancake Day) I signed up for the same challenge with the best of intentions. I'd watched George do it with ease - how hard can it be? Well, since then I've enjoyed not one but two pancake days, a Valentine's Day dinner that involved those Nutella Chocolate Souffles, and an all you can eat 'global buffet' amongst other mini indulgences like waffles, crumpets and more packs of pickled onion Monster Munch than I care to remember.

London Calling

Hey! I've been really busy lately and doing lots of vlogging while I'm at it (woop woop) so, while I edit those, here are some photos from out and about recently. Starting with a fun ensemble I put together to shoot street style at London Fashion Week.

I'm about to publish a photography library for my social media marketing company, so I went along to top it up with some photos of fashion week fanatics. I'll put a link to the library on my blog when it's up - I'm so excited to share it!

Monochrome Moments from Instagram

I've been really into posting to Instagram lately... I love photography anyway (a blogger loving photography - whaaaaat?) but particularly the idea of sharing captured moments, personal art and thoughts in one continuos feed. It's like a little window into my psyche but with, ya know, all of the boring bits like, 'I want a McDonalds' edited out. Actually, scratch that. My love of food is also well-documented on my Instagram profile too.
Anyway, I think it's such a shame that I post all of my favourite photos to Instagram, only to receive just a week or so in the limelight before they inevitably get pushed to the bottom of my feed by new photos, never to be glanced at again. So, I've decided to create collections of my favourite Instagram photos and share them with you here. I hope they bring you some sort of inspiration whether it be to your fashion or your philosophy!

Date Proof Makeup Look | YouTube

Hey! As it's Valentine's Day, I decided to film a date night makeup look for my YouTube channel. This makeup look is perfect for a romantic evening as it's heavy and sultry on the eyes but light on the lips - perfect for puckering up! Of course you can wear it anywhere you please and it's also great for dinner and/or drinks with the girls as the nude lips mean you won't have to top up your lippie every five seconds like you would with a bold colour.

Chocolate Nutella Surprise Soufflé (The Easy Way) | Recipe

Oh Nutella. That smooth, chocolatey, hazelnutty, deliciousness.… Jars of the stuff have been front and centre in UK supermarkets in the lead up to Pancake Day and so, of course, I indulged. With a flat full of it and the next big holiday, Valentine’s Day, looming I figured what better use of the jumbo jars of goodness than in a recipe that’s perfect for impressing your nearest and dearest? Whether that be boyfriend or best friends.

Now, this is ‘soufflé’ the easy way because the idea of traditional soufflé sends me running for the hills. Er, timing an egg-based dessert perfectly so that it’s still runny in the centre (but hot enough not to cause food poisoning) without even being able to open the oven and check it, lest if implode onto itself - no thanks. I’ve seen enough episodes of the Great British Bake Off to know that my soufflé skills are just not there yet. No, instead I’ve found the cheat’s way to do soufflé and it’s ruddy brilliant if I say so myself. Let’s get into it:

How do you Hygge?

After being battered around by the winds and rain on my way home last night and losing a battle with my new £22 ‘wind-resistant (pah!) umbrella, I must admit that I felt a little defeated. It’s tempting at times like these curl up and cry, waiting for warmer months to arrive but instead, when the days are short, nights are long and the weather is cold and blustery, I turn to the Danish concept of Hygge to get me through the long, winter months.

So, what is Hygge? Hygge, (pronounced, ‘hooga’) is often translated as cosiness but actually means so much more than that. My understanding of Hygge is the overall sense of happiness and well being that one gets from feeling truly comfortable and content. Warmth, light, peace, loved ones. Whatever it takes to get you to that happy place.

Fluffy American Style Pancake Recipe (It's Low Fat Too!)

Hey! With Pancake Day just around the corner, I figured that this year I'd share with you my (about to be not so) top secret super fluffy American-style pancake recipe (aka scotch pancakes or drop scones according to Wikipedia - who knew?). Now, there will be those of you who prefer your pancakes flat and crepe-y (a smaller pancake? Madness if you ask me!) and those who are on health kicks and trying to refrain altogether - I'd like to direct these people towards my HEALTHY, low fat pancake recipe. You are welcome.

But, for those of us with little to no regard for tradition or our waistlines on Pancake Day - let's commence! I should point out at this point that these super fluffy pancakes are also low in fat thanks to the (about to be not so) top secret ingredient which gives them all their fluffy goodness. Read on for the recipe and more mouth-watering-inducing photos.

DIY No Sew T-Shirt Transfer

Hey! How many times have you seen a jumper or t-shirt with a really cool piece of artwork on the front and thought, 'if only I could put that design onto a nicer shirt...'? Well, in this DIY post I'm gonna show you how to do just that, no sewing required.

I'm that sucker who is constantly buying stuff in the sale and telling myself, 'oh I know it's not my size but I can totally DIY it (because that's a verb now) and make it into something cooler'. Well, of all of the many, many items in my 'to DIY' pile, this t-shirt is the only have that I have ever actually done anything with haha, and I'm very proud of that so I'm going to share it with you.

#BloggersBelowZero at ICEBAR LONDON

Recently I had the pleasure of attending the #BloggersBelowZero event organised by the lovely Lauren of LDNmeet and hosted by ICEBAR LONDON and Dirty Martini. It was a perfect Monday evening of cocktails, canapés and, as always with blogger events, chatting to so many lovely ladies.
