Blogmas #5: Affordable Christmas Party Spread

If you love food anywhere near as much as I do then you'll share the sentiment that, when it comes to the culinary calendar, Christmas takes the biscuit. You just can't beat the plethora of platters that comes to greet us on Christmas Day (and the days after cause, ya know, gotta love a leftover or ten).

That being said, as kind as Christmas is on my belly, it's as harsh on the pursestrings so this year I'm utilising the mini Christmas spread. Ideal for festivities with friends this Christmas when, let's face it, we're all broke ass bitches. Click 'read more' to see what's keeping my cravings at bay until the big day!

Blogmas #4: Desk to Dance Floor Desk Drawer Essentials

'Tis the season to be jolly which usually means lots of socialising (yay!) the downside to this (other than being ass broke) is that it also means a lot of going straight out after work with no time to change (boo).

We're forever facing the dilemma of finding outfits that are formal enough for work but fierce enough for the dancefloor.  In this post I'm sharing with you the little gems I like to keep in my desk drawer that make a Clark Kent style quick change in the bathroom at work a cinch.

Blogmas #3: Classy & Casual Winter Woollens | Outfit

It's f-f-freeeezing in London all of a sudden and about 75% of my wardrobe suddenly feels obselete. I know most people just looove winter fashion but I rather loathe it if I'm honest, mostly because it forces us to dress according to necessity more than whimsy.

On days like this Saturday when I'm out and about, I refuse to be let Mother Nature bully me into covering up a perfectly good outfit with a ginormous coat so instead, at this time of year, I turn to layering to lift my look and keep things stylish.

Blogmas #2: Make Your High Street Handbag Look High End

In a world where every other blogger is toting a Givenchy Antigona or Bvlgari Serpenti (or both in most cases) it can be hard not to feel a little let down by the high street offerings for us poorer folk.

Of course we all know and admit that 90% of the allure of high end bags is based on the prestige of the brand name alone but it cannot be argued that designer handbags are indeed aesthetically pleasing. Ever so carefully crafted, the devil is in the detail when it comes to what makes a designer bag so special. In this post I'm going to share a few little tips for transferring those qualities to high street bags so that you can still love your bag without breaking the bank.

Blogmas #1: Sensationail Gel Nail Kit

Hey guys! So I've been catching up with my favourite blogs and YouTube channels lately and watching these girls thinking, 'how do they do it?!'. How on earth do they find the time to create amazing content day after day and still, you know, breath and everything. Anyway, I don't know what's come over me - I think it's more 1st of December festive vibes than anything - but I suddenly now feel the urge to do BLOGMAS!!! I'm working in a Costa in London and have to dash off to a meeting in exactly seven minutes but I figure that exactly enough time for me to quickly share with you something cool I discovered all too long ago so here it it is!!

From Desk to Dancefloor | Outfit

Like many others, I've been desperately soaking up the last of the summer sun lately. As the nights draw in, it becomes ever so clear to me how precious these sun-kissed evenings are. Funny isn't it, how we can spend all of July and August taking the summer for granted then, come September, we're all scrabbling to fit in after work drinks and make the most of it before the sunshine slips away for good. Guilty.

Cue the 'desk to dancefloor' outfit. A trusty combo that's conservative enough for the office but can be sexed up come 5 o'clock so there's no need to feel drab during dinner and drinks.

DIY Pinterest Style Bouquet

If you love Pinterest as much as me, you'll have seen all of the images of stunning rooms adorned with roses, or piles of pretty pink and white peonies, delicately laid in glass vases on top of stacks of stylish books. Well, I decided to shamelessly recreate the look for my living room because well, I think it's gorgeous. I certainly don't have the budget to buy fresh florals every week though so in this post I'm showing you how to DIY at a fraction of the price.

My Winter Ready Skincare Routine

I know, I know. This title is wince worthy but the sad sad truth is that as much as we don't want to admit it, in the words of Ned Stark, winter is coming. This year I've decided to skip the first four steps of post-summer grief and skip right to the acceptance part. It's coming, there's nothing I can do about it, so I might as well embrace the autumn and get ready!

The colder months always take a toll on my skin, drying it out and causing it to look dull and grey but not this year! Read on for my guide to super soft and glowy skin year round.

Instagram & Snapchat Lately...

Hellooo! Sorry it's been a bit quiet on here for the last week or so, my work as a freelancer has been super busy but I'm certainly not complaining! I really love working for myself on projects I'm passionate about. In the meantime, I have been checking in on Instragram and Snapchat with outfits, cheat day meals and little snippets from my day. Here's a little peek at what I've been posting. If you want to follow me, my username is @missjadefraser on everything - nice and easy!

Healthy Chocolate Chip Frozen Yoghurt | Recipe

What's better than double chocolate chip ice cream? Something that looks like chocolate chip ice cream, tastes like chocolate chip ice cream and yet contains wayyyy less fat than chocolate chip ice cream - woop woop! All the nice, much less naughty. Yes, cool, creamy and oh so chocolatey, this delicious DIY fro yo tastes so decadent you'd never guess it's a healthier alternative to shop bought chocolate ice cream. It actually tastes more chocolatey than chocolate ice cream I think. Probably because there's less yucky fat getting in the way of all that rich chocolatey flavour.
I totally dropped the fro yo out of the cone when getting this shot... See Twitter for the fail photo!

Bring it to this summer's BBQs and picnics to show off to share with your friends (or keep it all to yourself - no judgement here trust me). Either way it's a winner s read on for the super easy 3 ingredient recipe...

Rose Tinted Sunglasses | Outfit

It's no secret, I'm a golden girl. Silver may be cool yes but gold... Warm, rich and gorgeously glittering under the summer sun. Rose gold though, rose gold is magical in its own right. Not as bold as regular gold, but subtly striking instead. Cool and warm at the same time. Sassy in style statement yet still soft and feminine due to its pink accenting.

When I saw that mirrored rose gold sunglasses were trending this summer I just new I had to get a pair. After a quick butchers on ASOS and other trendy sites at pairs for £30-100, I knew there was only one place that was going to be in my price bracket. Low and behold, pages and pages of glimmering mirrored rose gold sunglasses all at great prices.

The Perfect Posh Picnic Food | Recipe

Now that we're fully into the swing of summer, I've been taking every opportunity to dine al fresco. Breakfasts on the balcony, lunch breaks and dinner dates on a picnic in the park... Any excuse so soak up some sunshine whilst I eat is ideal for me. Something I always used to struggle with though is what to pack for the perfect picnic.

A BLT and crisps can feel a little basic, especially when you're pretending you're on the beach in Barcelona not on a blanket in Buckinghamshire haha. For this reason, I've rustled up some quick, easy and healthy dishes that will add a touch of class to your summer picnic, even when you're pinching the pennies.

Upgrade Your Work Lunch: The New Sandwich, Soup & Salad

In an age when you're only ever a stone's throw away from a Pret, a Wagamamas or worse, the work canteen (you pretend you'll get the salad but you always end up going with the hot main), it can be increasingly difficult to stick to packed lunches for work. We know we can't afford to eat out so often, we know it's not healthy but sometimes the pull of a chicken katsu curry is hard to ignore when your other option is a soggy sandwich.

Luckily for us, I'm here to remind you that gone are the days when packed lunches meant rabbit food and carton soups. I've created a twist on the three packed lunch classics; sandwich, soup and salad with these quick and easy DIY dishes that'll save your wallet, your waistline and your willpower.

How to Style and Re-style Your Summer Occasion Dresses

The further into adulthood I venture, the more I find that my calendar is becoming increasingly packed with events. This means more socialising - yay! - but also more shopping for occasion outfits - boo! Trust me, serial shopping may sound like a 'yay', but it becomes a serious 'boo' after about the third bout of pre-pay day panic-fuelled sale shopping (cue the question, 'what kind of dress can I get for... zero pounds?'). None, the answer is no dresses.

How to Save Money Part 1: Creating a Budget

Do you know how much money is in your current account right now? Not a ballpark gestimate but an actual figure down to the closest £10? Or exactly how much money you've spent this month even?
An example budget spread sheet - pretty in pink and everything!

Nope? Well if you'd asked me a while back I couldn't either. It's amazing how many of us spend blindly, gritting our teeth as we tap in our pin code hoping to avoid a ground-swallow-me-up card 'DECLINED' moment. The closer to pay day it gets the more real that fear becomes... That dreaded feeling when you're finally forced to log into your online banking to pay a friend for Saturday night's Uber, half expecting to read the word 'Paha!' next to your current bank balance. It doesn't have to be this way... There is hope, it's called a budget.

Ivy Park - Stylish Activewear You'll WANT to Workout In | Outfit

If there's one thing that we've learnt from Kendall Jenner it's that activewear can be super stylish. From luxury leggings to high end hoodies, her gym wear wardrobe takes, 'I woke up like this' chic to a new level. Comfort for the win. The best thing about it though? While Balmain may be a little steep for my current bank balance, gym gear I can certainly stretch to.

Now £500 leggings and £300 trainers may be a little out of my reach (like does she actually, really, properly exercise in that stuff?) but luckily bae-yonce and powerhouse Topshop have combined forces to bring us Ivy Park, an affordable line of cool activewear that we wouldn't be scared to sweat in - yay! My Foundation Favourites

When it comes to makeup I've learned where I need to splurge and where I can afford to save. A funny choice of words you may think but the truth is that, after years of wasting money on certain high street products hoping they'd be as magical as MAC and, similarly, splurging on some Chanel only to realise it's the same as Sleek, I've learned where is best to invest.

So, without further ado, I'm sharing my foundation favourites and how to get the best of your beauty budget with some pieces for as little as one pound. Take a peek...

DIY Pinterest Style Nail Art with Thumbs UP Nail Wraps | Tutorial

I'm impatient, it's no secret. Highest on my list of top time-wasters?  Waiting for my nails to dry. Like, literally. Watching. Paint. Dry. No thank you. My disdain of this very task usually leaves me going with bare nails for weeks on end (something I don't generally like to do) saying, 'Oh, I'll do them tomorrow night...' until the filming of a YouTube video or outfit blog post finally forces me to give them a quick slick of the fastest drying (but never quite fast enough) polish I have. So you can only imagine my excitement when I heard all about Thumbs Up Nail Wraps - super stylish stickers that look like a top notch manicure - yes please! Let me show you how they work...

Champagne & Strawberry Cake | Recipe

Like most women, when it comes to my favourite indulgences, champagne and strawberries are right up there (amongst sleep, pasta of any kind, shoes and anything that sparkles). So it was only a matter of time before I married the two into what is now my favourite ever cake recipe.

A guaranteed crowd-pleaser, this cake is just perfect for impressing your pals at this summer's gatherings and no one need know that it costs far less to make than a bakery buy... Oh yeah, it has an (optional) cheesecake frosting too. Let's get to it -->>

I was nominated last year by the lovely Laura of Loved By Laura and now this year Molly of Molly Quinn Blog has nominated me - thank you so much Molly!!!

As part of being nominated I need to answer the questions Molly asked on her blog and then pass the tag on and nominate some great blogs which I think deserve recognition. Here we go!

Pretty & Productive Desk Space DIY | Decor

The significance of the desk space is something that is seriously overlooked. Think about it, for the majority of us, it's the one area where we spend most of our waking hours during the week. I know I spend at least 8 hours a day sat in my little corner.

We focus so much on making our homes beautiful, it's time we did the same for our home away from home. Whether you work in a shared office, are a student or you work from home, here are some subtle touches and tips that can make all the difference to your working day.

Easy Quick Chow Mein | Recipe

Chinese is hands down my favourite takeaway cuisine. The cross-section of fabulously fresh flavours available; sweet, sour, salty, spicy are all a dream for a real 'foodie' like me. Whilst I love dim sum and sweet and sour pork, my absolute favourite Chinese takeaway dish has to be chow mein, especially the day after a big night. Oodles of noodles are just what I need to soak up any residual alcohol in my system and the fact that I can have carbs, meat and veg all in one dish is a win - the need for a knife is a no-no on a feeling-sorry-for-myself Saturday afternoon.

Getting a takeaway every weekend can be costly though, especially if I'm ordering for one because my boyfriend's decided he wants a pizza again (pah!). There's no way I'm ordering £10 worth of Chinese for myself just to make the delivery fee (although we all know I could eat that much). I'd rather see the extra £5 go on a makeup or towards something other than my belly. Instead, I've learnt to make chow mein for myself! It's cheaper, much quicker than waiting for the delivery guy and I don't have to wait until 5.30pm when the Chinese place opens to curb my cravings. Here's how to DIY:

Chic Power Dressing | Outfit

Stylist Rachel Zoe is quoted as having once said, 'fashion is a way to say who you are without ever having to speak'. I couldn't agree more and this look says, 'I mean business'.

One of the coolest things about being a fashion blogger is that you can show up to a work meeting in anything and noone will bat an eyelid. Well, they might take a second look if you were to wear, say, a see through dress a la Rihanna at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards, but they'd probably still love it. I love working in an industry which doesn't restrict my ability to express myself when it comes to my outfit.

How the Instagram Changes Will Affect Your Following and What to Do

So today I absent-mindedly updated Instagram as I often do when prompted on the App Store (NOT, I generally ignore it until I have about 100 updates due...). So, the one time I actually update something and I immediately regret it because a) boy does that little circle take forever to go around and b) when I (finally) logged back into Instagram I realised that by upgrading I'd also enabled the dreaded changes we've all been hearing about... Oh. Em. Gee.

Cue a home feed filled with people I didn't even know I followed and some that I definitely don't follow - yes there are sponsored posts galore in the new update. But don't fear! I'm here to give you the lowdown on the new changes - the good, the bad and the ugly and to tell you what you can do to combat a drop in followers or a hopeless home feed.

How to REALLY Go Shopping on Pinterest

I dunno about you but when I think of Sundays I think about cosying up in PJs with comfort food, Netflix and my favourite Pinterest boards. Once upon a time, my days on Pinterest would be spent designing my dream house, planning a wedding to rival a Kardashian's or giving myself major food envy.

Recently however, I've been thinking about how Pinterest can be some much more than that. Now I use Pinterest not only as my vision board but as my stylist and personal shopper. Bringing me pins of shoppable items from my favourite affordable stores like ASOS and Topshop, complete with styling suggestions from celebrities, my favourite bloggers and even my best friends. Here's how to unlock the power of Pinterest:

Affordable London Brunches & DIY Brunch Ideas | Recipe

So it seems that brunch, that rather ambiguous meal that can take place at any time between breakfast and dinner now it seems, is kind of a thing. Like, everywhere. Not that I'm complaining. An array of delicious breakfast foods still on offer at 3pm and an excuse to sip champagne before noon? I'm in!

Now, as much as we'd all love to spend every day Sunday schmoozing over champers in some swanky central London restaurant, that can get a little tough on the old purse strings. Which is, of course, where I come in. In this post, I'll be sharing a couple of affordable London brunch spots I've stumbled across recently as well as a recipe to rustle up a DIY brunch to impress.

On Monday I had the pleasure of attending the Bloggers Fashion Week Event organised by The Bloggers Hangout. I've been to a few The Bloggers Hangout events in the past so I had a feeling that this one would not disappoint and it didn't!

After a long day in a client's office I was in much need of some fashion and beauty related talk, so I scooted over to the other side of London, pausing for a quick change of clothes and a makeup refresh in Paddington train station (I'm a whizz at that now, I vlogged the transformation) and arrived at Provision Studios in Hoxton.

The Colourful Houses of Notting Hill | Outfit

It's officially spring!!! Haha, I feel like I've already started about three posts by saying that (I'm a victim of hype, clearly) but according to Facebook this past Sunday marked the beginning of spring in England and I trust Google. So yes, as it is now definitely, unequivocally the spring season, I ventured out for an easy Sunday stroll amongst the pretty coloured houses of London's Notting Hill.
.

While I was there my friend, Evan, and I indulged in a spot of brunch (post on that coming this weekend) and also took the opportunity for a photo session amongst the pretty pinks façades.

Best Creme Egg Brownies | Recipe

Hey! I hope you've had a great weekend. With Easter coming up soon I thought I'd bring you some fun chocolate recipes to impress you friends and family starting with the naughtiest one - Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies!

These brownies are dense and indulgent, with a crunchy outer and melt-in-the-mouth, super duper chocolatey centre. Best of, all each slice is adorned with an ooey gooey baked cadbury cream egg. Don't like creme eggs? Leave them out. This is still the best brownie recipe around (trust me, I've tried and tested them all. I know, I lead a hard life...).

Cropped Jumper Styling | Outfit

Hey! Today’s outfit is a colourful one because it is spring after all! I saw a girl wearing a cropped jumper and boyfriend jeans in a nightclub the other day and I thought how cool, different and warm she looked, haha.

I’d never really seen the point of cropped jumpers before that, passing up the trend but actually I can see now how they’re a great, sexy alternative to a strap top in the colder months.

Nike Running Shoe Steal

I got some pretty new Nike running shoes! If you've been reading my blog lately you'll already know that I recently embarked on a fun #90dayfitnesschallenge and, if you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I've started running as part of that. Now, I'm not a particular fan of running. In fact, it's my least favourite form of cardio. Given the choice I'd much rather play a group sport like netball (but ain't nobody got time for that) or cross train at the gym (ain't nobody got money for that) so I've succumbed to the idea of running because it's a) it's free and b) I can do it whenever and wherever (provided that my chaperone, aka the bf, is willing to tag along when it's dark - I checked, he is).

So, that being decided, I was all set to become a running goddess akin to those we see smugly sprinting across our screens in Nike adverts. In fact, so determined was I to commit to running, that I ventured out in the dark and rain on the first two nights (with the boyfriend in tow, or rather, ahead because he's much fitter than I am) for a well-intentioned run - only to be struck down mid-stride by shin splints, both times.

VLOG: Car Dancing & Birthday Buffets | YouTube

Hey! I've been really busy lately and I realised that vlogs are a great way to keep my YouTube channel up to date while I'm on the go. My granddad just turned 80 so we made little road trip to Derby so see him and celebrate with an all-you-can-eat buffet!

There's a little 'outfit of the day' section in there for you too. It's soooo much easier and quicker to share my outfits on video than in blog photos (although I'll still do those because they're artistic and fun). I need to master lighting because this video's a little dark at then end but I'll get there. Embedded video is after the jump!
