Notting Hill Carnival

Hi guys! As I've been so busy setting up Made by Jade in the last few weeks I'm only just getting around to posting my pictures from Notting Hill Carnival (sad face). Still, I figured that they're too fun to just sit in my iPhoto library so here you have it - a retrospective overview of the carnival with details on what goes on there, just in case you've never been!

Set over the August bank holiday weekend, the Notting Hill Carnival is one of my highlights of summer! I've been coming here for over ten years and I absolutely love it. In a nutshell it's a massive street party!

LOTS more pictures after the jump! -->>

Bournemouth Beach Break | Vlog

Hey guys! I think it's about time I catch you up on what else I've been up to lately and what better way than with a vlog!

Recently George and I were treated to a super surprise when my parents handed us a voucher for a two night hotel stay at the Queens Hotel and Spa in Bournemouth. They'd won the stay in a raffle but as it was for a mid-week stay they unfortunately couldn't go because of work which meant that the voucher fell into our ever-eager hands - score! I've been meaning to get back into vlogging as I never seem to have the time to sit and film a structured YouTube video nowadays and shock, horror, I actually followed through and did it! Read/watch on to see what we got up to in beautiful Bournemouth...

#BigBloggerConference

As I continue to catch you up on what I've been lately let me show you what I got up to at the recent #BigBloggerConference which I attended.  I wanted to wait until I'd officially launched my new store to post so that I could show you my MADE by Jade table at the conference. I'm quite sure that I'm the last person to post about this now but still, it's always good to have another perspective!

When blogger event organisers @LDNMeet announced the #BigBloggerConference on Twitter a few months ago now, I was beside myself with excitement. Having attended a few #LDNMeet events before, such as chocolate making and Hulafit, I knew it would be a winner. This time the event boasted the chance to not only meet brands but actually sit in on workshops and learn about how to enhance out blogs - something I'm always interested in learning more about.

My Online Store! | MADE by Jade

Hello, hello, hello!!! I'm so giddy with excitement that I barely know how to start this post!! I actually thought that I had drafted it already, ready for this moment but I hadn't and now I feel overwhelmed with the need to get everything out but guys - I HAVE A NEW STORE!!!!! :D :D :D It's at madebyjade.co.uk.

Many of you may know that I hand craft jewellery, accessories and gifts which I sell online. Up until quite recently I had a little Vistaprint store which I was, quite honestly, not very happy with for a long time. It wasn't as slick and professional as I want my brand to be and I didn't feel that it represented the beauty and high quality of all of the pieces which I make. Anyway, I've been working away for the last few months, researching, photographing, re-photographing (ohh the frustration!) and now I can unveil my new look online store - madebyjade.co.uk. I really, REALLY hope that you love it!!!

I've also added a lot of new pieces including my dessert-shaped double scented candles which I've had really great feedback from. (Yes mum and Rhia, haha I am finally selling these after making you the Christmas gifts ones - it's only taken me a year!!). Here's a quick overview of some  the pieces on the site. I'll be adding soooooo many new pieces in the lead up to Christmas so please do keep checking back! I also offer Free P+P within the UK and I also ship internationally.

For the fellow Gossip Girl lovers out there.

Yes - this is a candle!!!!

Hand made snow globes - these are so beautiful when they're shaken (even if I do say so myself).

I love having these little desk easels around to remind me to embrace life!
A super fluffy phone case! This comes in loads of colours and phone styles.
Fimo charms for your bracelets, key rings or wherever you fancy!

Luxe leather and chain bracelets inspired by the strap of a Chanel handbag.
A personalised phone case order I created as a wedding gift from one sister to another <3
I don't know where I'd be without my mirror phone case - SO useful!!!!
Every single piece here is hand-crafted by yours truly. I also make a lot of custom and personalised pieces so whether you'd like a candle in a different scent or shape, a case for a random make of phone, your favourite quote or a snow globe with something specific inside it for someone special do let me know! You can either comment below, email me at mailmadebyjade@gmail.com or tweet me at @missjadefraser.

Deep Purple Eye Makeup | Tutorial

Whilst I'm not ready to embrace the hot drinks and dark evenings that come with Autumn, the makeup is definitely something I can get on board with. Berries and burgundies are my absolute favourite shades to use for makeup so Autumn is easily my favourite season for makeup. It's been a while since I've done a beauty post on here so I figured it's about time that I share. Perfect for the weekend, here's a striking eye makeup tutorial looks impressive but is actual really easy to do. Step-by-step photo guide after the jump!

Fresh Mint Leaf Tea | Recipe

The sun has has his hat on in London today and I for one am not quite ready to let go of summer just yet. If you're with me then this easy recipe is for you! Whilst I love a good hot drink from time to time, (especially when colleagues have the office air conditioning on -100 degress, a gripe I haven't been shy about voicing on my Twitter account), for me English breakfast tea and hot chocolate evoke a sense of winteriness that I'm just not ready to accept yet.

Instead, I'm a fan of herbal teas in the warmer months and was recently in a cafĂ© in London when I witnessed them brew mint tea in the most refreshingly simple way (pardon the pun). Here's a mint tea recipe that uses fresh mint leaves and will warm you from the inside out without giving you that looming Game of Thrones-esque 'winter is coming' feeling.
